Notes from No Man’s Land: Boarding Time for Music Departures is a cross-cultural musical voyage, where sound becomes a bridge between worlds, and melodies move beyond geography to reveal the unity within diverse traditions.
In this concert, the works of Somei Satoh, Toru Takemitsu, Giya Kancheli, Fazıl Say, and Cyril Scott unfold through the dialogue between violin and piano, revealing a sound world where mysticism, stillness, and light coexist.
This program reflects the spiritual and poetic essence of the East, while tracing its subtle echoes within Western musical thought. Each piece becomes a reflection on silence and sound, distance and closeness — a reminder of the invisible threads connecting cultures across time and space.
The project forms part of Performart’s new touring initiative, dedicated to presenting contemporary Greek artistry abroad and fostering cultural exchange with international artists and institutions. Each performance becomes a meeting point — a space where music builds bridges, reshapes traditions, and invites audiences to journey through sound.
This production takes place under the auspices and with the support of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
