Ivan Bašić (Belgrade, 1996) is a multi-award-winning pianist, sought-after soloist, and dedicated chamber musician, recognized for his crystalline tone, natural phrasing, and expressive energy. He has performed with leading European orchestras and is a regular guest at festivals across Europe, Asia, and Africa, including Davos, Gstaad, Porto, Padua, Gmunden, Cairo, and Tokyo. He has collaborated with orchestras such as Musikkollegium Winterthur, Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, and the RTS Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of distinguished conductors.
He is a laureate of prestigious competitions including Premio Jaén Piano Competition (2023), Rina Sala Gallo in Monza (2022), and the Concorso Internazionale Pianistico Roma (2021), where he also received several special prizes. He is the recipient of awards from the “Cuomo” Foundation, the Kiefer Hablitzel Prize for one of Switzerland’s leading young musicians, as well as the Award for Best Young Musician of Serbia (2014, 2022).
In 2021, he released his debut CD featuring works by Mussorgsky and Ravel, and during the pandemic he realized several notable online projects and premieres of contemporary works.
Ivan Bašić studied in Belgrade and Zurich, further refining his artistry with distinguished teachers such as Nevena Popović, Konstantin Scherbakov, Vovka Ashkenazy, among others. Alongside his performing career, he is engaged in teaching as an artistic assistant at the Zurich University of the Arts and leads a piano class at the Konservatorium Zurich.
