Severin Filipović was born in 1992 in Makarska (Croatia). He began piano lessons at age of six at the music school Makarska where he achieved primary and secondary music education. During that period he collaborated with the International Orchestra of young musicians (“International Youth Orchestra” – Neumarkt) and Dubrovnik Philharmonic. Currently he is a student of master studies at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of prof. Lidija Stanković. He played in all the major halls in Belgrade and regularly plays recitals in his hometown.
He won numerous awards at National and International Competitions: first prize at the “18. International Competition for Young Pianists “- Šabac (Serbia), first prize at the Republic competition of chamber music in 2015. in Belgrade (piano duo), second prize at the “11. International Competition – Davorin Jenko”- Belgrade, second prize at the “10. International Competition Davorin Jenko” as a chamber ensemble (piano, mandolin), semi-finalist of the competition ”49. Jeunesses Musicales” in Belgrade. He has attended master classes with many renowned professors and teachers such as Arbo Valdma, Aleksandar Madžar, Ruben Dalibaltayan, Michael Uhde …
During elementary academic studies, he participated and played at numerous cultural festivals and concerts: “A FEST” in Novi Sad, “Ulus”, “FESTUM”, “KULT”, “UMETNIZACIJA”, “Saturday at 6″, concerts of the faculty class, concerts of piano department of Faculty of Music, in the “Student Cultural Center” in Belgrade, the artistic pavilion “Cvijeta Zuzorić”, Ethnographic Museum, concert hall Kolarac, gallery “Progres”, “Children’s cultural center” in Belgrade, “PIANO PROJECT” 2012. and 2013. in Split and Makarska, participated and performed in the project “Meeting Artist Place” contemporary art – music for the film “VADE MECUM” (dir. Damjan Kozole), performed at the concert of mandolin Orchestras and chamber ensembles in honor of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Raffaelle Calace, participated as a piano collaborator at the concert of artistic ensemble “King Petar I”.
Since 2011., he held about 10 solo concerts, several of them have been under the patronage of “Cultural Year” town of Makarska, Brela Tourist Board, Brela Reef, BLUESUN Hotels; solo concert in the Cathedral of St. Filip 2012.; solo concert in the old church of the Franciscan Monastery in 2013., 2014. and 2015.; concert “Piano Recital by Peter Šošić & Severin Filipović” in 2013. in Soline; “Concert of Classical Music by Duo Iris & Severin Filipović” in 2014. in the church St. Stjepan – Brela and solo concert at the opening of painting exhibition in the old stone Palace in Brela 2015., and just as many evening concerts of chamber music (duo – piano and mandolin) actively cooperating for nine years with a colleague Stella Ivanisević (mandolin, Conservatorio di Musica “G. Verdi” di Milano) as a chamber ensemble. In May 2015., at the invitation of the cultural association “Amici del Futuro” in Monza (Italy), held a solo concert at the Cultural Centre “La Rotonda” in Monza.
